VVA Bags ‘Best Documentary’, Best Narration’ Award at the INTACH – FILM IT INDIA FEST
Students of Vidya Vikas Academy once again won laurels at inter- school competitions. This time it was the INTACH – FILMITINDIA FESTIVAL (Goa Chapter) conducted in the month of December. School- students were asked to produce 2–minute documentary films on any aspect of Goan cultural heritage – traditional occupations, food, customs,etc.
Nikhil Raikar of Class 8 won the Best Documentary Award for his film entitled ‘River Sal Supports Life’. Maxim Manakov of Class 6 was awarded Best Narration for his documentary on the ‘Mahadeva Temple at TambdiSurla’. Dhiti Lotlikar of Class 6 also participated with her production ‘Authentic Goan Cuisine’ highlighting traditional Goandishes like‘kismoor’ and ‘sannas’.
The Award ceremony was held at Sharada Mandir School (ICSE), Panjim on Tuesday, 10th February, 2015. One film from each of the 14 schools which made it to the final selection were screened.
Trs.Hema Cacodcar, Marina D’Costa, Pamela Torcato and Sarvadnya Sambari mentored the students.
